Hugh Park Jedwill
Hugh founded the Heartland Mobile Council™ and serves as the HMC Executive Director/President. He is also the CEO of Mobile Anthem, the only mobile phone marketing agency that uses brand marketing experience to connect brands to their consumers through their mobile phones.He is a marketer with 12 years of experience in food, personal care and high tech – four years specifically in Marketing at Kraft Foods, Palm and Procter & Gamble plus seven years of engineering experience at Kraft. During his years at P&G he built and executed marketing campaigns for Venus that integrated mobile marketing inside traditional media, a first in the foremost branding company in the world.
He has his MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a Bachelors in Engineering from Northwestern University. Hugh is member/volunteer at the American Marketing Association, a director on the Ross Chicago Alumni Board, and an Account Director for the Taproot Foundation. Steve Snyder
Steve Snyder serves as the HMC VP of Seminars. He is a 30 year veteran of direct marketing with experience in direct mail, email and mobile marketing. Steve is currently a founder and the Chief Sales and Strategy Officer of Consent Media, a digital agency focused on mobile and social marketing. He was also a co-founder of Affinity Mobile in 2004. Steve launched the Trumpet Mobile prepaid wireless phone in RadioShack and Walgreens stores.Steve was the Vice President of Enterprise Sales at Experian Marketing Services from 2008 thru August, 2009. He managed a team of new business development hunters selling the complete line of direct marketing services to Fortune 1000 customers.
Prior to Affinity Mobile and Experian, Steve spent 25 years in a variety of sales and management jobs at Donnelley Marketing, now part of infoGroup. Sara Jean Goodman
Sara Jean Goodman is personally and professionally active in social media marketing and networking. She uses this to her advantage as the Director of Social Media for the Heartland Mobile Council. Sara is also a founding member of the marketing department for Advantage Futures, a futures clearing brokerage in Chicago. Here she continues to establish and develop marketing strategies and tactics from the ground up.Sara is an avid volunteer, also serving as the Director of Social Media for the Chicago chapter of the American Marketing Association, on the board of Zeta Tau Alpha Chicago Alumni, and is a member of Women in Listed Derivatives (WILD). Previously, Sara worked in sports marketing and residential real estate. She obtained her bachelors degree in marketing and management from the University of South Florida. Ken Kearney
Ken serves as a member of the HMC leadership team. Ken is currently the Senior Mobile Marketing Manager with Critical Mass in Chicago. Ken has honed his innovative and customer-focused approach to marketing via his 10 plus years of championing the online and offline program needs of an eclectic mix of leading edge brands.Prior to Critical Mass Ken was with Redbox, where he led the integrated marketing efforts designed to establish Redbox as a leading source for mobile reach in the entertainment space. Ken was also a Senior Account Manager at Vibes Media (an early pioneer of mobile marketing technology) where he advised clients on strategies to integrate mobile and social networking into marketing campaigns. In addition to his mobile experience, Ken also has years of independent consulting experience in event and production management, marketing analytics, and IT education fields.
When Ken is not hard at work at Critical Mass and HMC, he can be found indulging his passions for sailing on Lake Michigan, all things Broadway, and his alma mater - University of Notre Dame, where he obtained a BBA in Marketing. Ken can be reached at ken@heartlandmobiecouncil.com.
Kevin Keener
Kevin Keener serves as the HMC General Counsel. He is an attorney with Keener, McPhail, Salles, LLC. His practice focuses on the intellectual property needs of businesses, consultants, and entrepreneurs in broadcasting, media, marketing, and software. He handles contracts, licensing, IP registration, and litigation.Originally from Ohio, Kevin worked for Kirkland & Ellis in New York City for a number of years prior to returning to Ohio to obtain his law degree from The Ohio State University. Kevin maintains a legal blog at www.businessiplawyer.com. When he is not working, Kevin is active in serving the community through his church.
Goren Dillard
Goren serves as the HMC Director of #MobiU2011 Sponsorships. Goren is also Director of Sales for conVISUAL, a full service provider of mobile solutions. In this capacity, he develops and implements mobile marketing strategies for dialogue marketing with text messages, mobile website and apps for the Apple, Droid and Blackberry operating systems. His work includes all mobile platforms including Smart Phones and wireless tablets. Prior to this position, he managed sales for a digital media start up with a mobile platform that distributes and redeems coupons for consumer packaged goods companies and retail chains.Goren Dillard is also a seasoned business development manager with over 25 years of sales and marketing expertise. Most of this time was devoted to managing accounts and territories to generate revenue for broadcast and digital media content properties. He has worked for some of the most prestigious brands in media and technology, including Viacom’s CBS and BET brands and Xerox Corp. In each case For the past 10 years, he focused specifically on interactive media and multi channel marketing strategies for brand marketers and advertising agencies.
Throughout his career he has also been affiliated with several trade associations, working to develop revenue and sponsorship modules for customer advocacy platforms; including Georgetown University, The National Newspaper Publishers Association, the Chicago Interactive Marketing Association and the HMC. Matt Maday
Matt serves as the HMC Director of #MobiU2011 Experience. Matt is also an entrepreneur, inventor, author and educator. He is known for being the co-founder and chief executive officer of the global digital agency, Oncall Interactive. In his role as chief executive officer, Matt plays an advisory role, on digital strategy, for firms such as McDonald’s corporation, Microsoft and Edelman Worldwide. Along with his work at Oncall Interactive, Matt also co-founded Chicago-based real estate investment corporation, MMA Group.Education has played a major role for Matthew, having taught at Columbia College, International Academy of Merchandising and Design and Mac University. He was a co-author of the award winning technology book Flash 5 workshop and contributor to several college textbooks including Chemistry – The molecular nature of matter and Intermediate accounting.
As a community leader in technology, Matthew was invited to serve on the Junior Board of Directors of Kendall College, helping to shepherd their new School of Business. He is also on the board of Universal Peace Plan, a Chicago-based non-profit organization that focuses on the advancement of non-violent solutions and positive social change. Vanessa Horwell
Vanessa serves as the HMC Director of PR. Vanessa Horwell is also the founder and Chief Visibility Officer of ThinkInk, a public relations and visibility firm that favors storytelling over spin. She has spent the past 18 years working with companies in the US, UK and Europe, developing successful campaigns and strategies for their brands. She founded ThinkInk in 2004, after being fed up with PR agencies that offered mediocre results for big fees. Today, Vanessa is a senior level strategist who works with companies in North America, EMEA and Asia-Pac in developing winning media campaigns, building relationships with influencers, and improving visibility through a unique style of public relations. She also has an entrepreneurial spirit that comes from having raised capital for start-ups, and grown her own businesses.Vanessa is also recognized in the field of mobile marketing through her ongoing column in the mobile industry resource, Mobile Marketer, as Director of PR for the Heartland Mobile Council (HMC) in North America, and being named to the Mobile Women to Watch 2010 for her contributions to mobile advertising, marketing and media in 2010.
